Before this song was even finished playing the first time I heard it, I knew it was going to be my favorite off of the album.

I listened to an interview she did with NPR and she talked about how she comes from a family of performers that goes something like three generations back and her sister, Maude Maggart, who is a cabaret singer, sang the harmony with her. She said that the line that is repeated over and over wasn’t looped — they sang it over and over live, facing each other, singing into the same mike.
